Last Night's Book Discussion
Missed you guys! Special thanks to Diana for taking the lead - see below for the skinny, and a fun idea from Jill:
"Here is the update on our meeting. Discussed the book. Ate a lots of food. Also discussed the book for next month, Water for Elephants a bit. Group decided to go movies on May 7 Wednesday night to see Maid of Honor at 7ish.Prior to the movie, Dinner maybe at Henry Salazars. Missed Odette, fearless leader. Present were Leslie, Meisha, Barbara, Stephanie , Jill, Carla, Debbie, Megan soon to be Mrs. Megan, Veronica looking very tanned from her exotic vacation in Chile, (while us pasty Californians looked on).At one point discussed: start reading Daughters of Good Fortune now. Kind of heavy reading....May take us two months to read it. But still want to experience new writing, a new world. So anything else I forgot.....Diana. "

Hi girls! I saw this company mentioned in the People's Choice feature in today's Fresno Bee.
Here is a link to the website: http://www.preciousthyme.com/
You get seven meals delivered to your door (or to work in a special cooler) to put in your freezer. They have two different prices - one for larger meals (feeds 4-5) $150 and one for smaller meals (feeds 2-3) $85.
It sounds quite a bit like Dream Dinners, except better...you don't have to go and prep the meals. Someone does all of that...you just pull one out of the freezer and pop it in the oven.
I am going to show it to Aaron and see what he thinks of the menu choices. If I do it, I will let you know what we thought! If anyone else does it, let me know what you think!

Movie Review | War Dance
The images in this film are so vivid... the emotions, so raw... someone sneezed onscreen and I actually caught myself whispering, "Bless y-."
In several poignant moments, I had forgotten about my tub of popcorn and sat motionless as I stared transfixed onto the screen, in awe of these resilient children tugging at my heart. What worries do I have in my life compared to the hell they've lived through?
My 13-year old asked if we could pick up the video - he won't have to wait long since the DVD is coming out next Tuesday, April 15, 2008.
Still not convinced? Check out their Official Site and turn the volume up. I'd join you but I'm still counting my blessings over here...
My Rating: 4.0 Stars (out of 5)
About the Film from WarDance.org
by Jenni Robison
"War/Dance is a new documentary movie about three brutalized children of Northern Uganda and their dream of musical expression. The documentary is set amidst the violence of the Lord’s Resistance Army (L.R.A.), who kidnap sleeping children to abuse them and force them into rebellion and murder, sometimes even murder of their own families. Despite the horror, War/Dance has captured a beautiful story about the epic, unbreakable spirits of these children."
